October 2006 Chapter Meeting Highlights:

October Meeting/Anniveray Event Planning:

We had a great turnout for our 20th Anniversary Celebration and Chapter Renaming on Saturday, October 14. Thanks to all of you who helped with the meeting - most were acknowledged in the program but we should not forget the contribution of Betty Covey and Sandy Benson who along with Loretta Starr baked cookies and provided the refreshments. It was nice to see a number of other stamp collectors from the various stamp clubs. in the DFW area.

Highlights of the meeting included:

Donated FDC's for sale from top cachet makers.
Philatelic Door Prizes,
Special Souvenir Program and event cover,
Display of Chapter Covers,
Display of Chapter Photos from 1986 to date,
Presentation of a Plaque in honor of Fred Sawyer to the University.
We learned about how the chapter started from Ron Aljoe - the first President of our chapter.
We were also grateful that Jeanne Sawyer and other family members of Fred's that were able to attend.
