Our next meeting of the North Texas Chapter 56 of the AFDCS will be held on Saturday May 6th from 9:30 AM until noon at the McDermott Library on the campus of the University of Texas in Dallas (Richardson). We meet in the Wineburgh Philatelic Research Library room. For any new members who need directions, please access our web site www.afdcschap56.org and we have a link to UTD where you can find directions and a campus map. Parking is available next to the Library however you need a permit which you can obtain as soon as you arrive at the meeting -you will need to place the permit on your vehicles inside rear view mirror in order to avoid a ticket.

Our May meeting is the last formal meeting until Fall. We need a good turnout to plan for the future.

Our speaker at the May meeting will be Fred Greene. Fred is the former stamp columnist for the Dallas Morning News. His topic will be focused on aviation - he will show part of his collection of Trans Pacific Covers including First Days of C115 the Transpacific Airmail issue. He will discuss his trip on Pan Am across the Pacific. Fred was one of a few philatelic writers invited by Pan Am to make this ceremonial flight. This is a not to be missed presentation.
