January 2006 Meeting Minutes :

Our first meeting of the New Year will be held this coming Saturday at the Wineberg Philatelic Library at the University of Texas in Dallas.

The Special Collections area will be open from 9:30 AM until Noon. The first hour will allow you to bring covers to swap or sell or just to sit around and talk and even to use the Philatelic Library.  We will begin our Business meeting at 10:30 and that will be followed by a video of the famous cachet maker - TORKEL GUNDEL. I will show copies of never before seen Gundel covers and discuss material that I plan to submit to First Days for consideration. Erik Carlson will arrange for a VCR and TV.

For those members who did not send me a SASE to obtain a special parking permit, I will have them at the meeting. In addition to the agenda that I sent to you on December 10th, I would like to discuss a memorial for Ed Schlecht.

Please make every attempt to attend our meeting on Saturday--we have some important issues to discuss - especially TEXPEX and our involvement this year.
