February 2006 Meeting Minutes :

Attendance at our monthly meeting on Saturday Feb 18th was not up to expectations. Perhaps the weather was a factor or perhaps the day of the week is an issue. Please let me know your opinion about Saturday meetings.

The agenda that was covered included the following:

• Treasurers Report - we are still in good shape
• Donation made to UTD in the name of Ed Schlecht was acknowledged by the University and also by a note that I received from Audrey Schlecht which I read to the attendees. March Meeting date and location is still to be determined - it will be at someones home (looks like either Jessey Covey or Jones McConnell.) I will let you know as soon as a decision is made.
• TEXPEX is scheduled for April 7-9. We will need volunteers to handle our table at the show. Tricia Richmond will be the speaker at our meeting at 2PM on Saturday April 8. I have contacted the AFDCS and they are mailing me labels of members in the DFW metroplex. Only 43 names came up on their computers for zip codes beginning with a #75 or #76. We will send invitations to these people who are not chapter members. They will be encouraged to stop by our booth and participate in a drawing for covers.
• Tricia suggested that we continue to have a Swap and Shop at each meeting. For Show and Tell I brought the latest covers from Doris Gold. Tricia showed her latest creations including the Olympics, Hattie McDaniel and postal stationary. We need a good attendance at our May 6th meeting at UTD in order to show the University that we appreciate their efforts to accomodate us. Please put that date on your calendars.
